My year kicked off with a bang, photographing the season launch event for Young Guns Container Crew, on a stunning Brisbane afternoon. Young Guns had just finished their 2024 kick off conference and this event was a combination of the team getting to unwind afterwards, along with the presentation their annual awards.
The Brief
The photo brief was pretty straightforward on this job - my client wanted photos of everyone having a good time, along with capturing their recognition awards being presented, and images of the event set-up details. Taking place at the gorgeous Bougainville House at Howard Smith Wharves, it was also important to capture the beauty of the venue and surrounds.
The Challenges
There really weren’t many challenges when it came to photographing this event, aside from the obvious ones like staying out of the way as much as possible. This can be a challenge on smaller events when as a photographer, you really don’t want to be in guests’ faces too much. This can be used as an opportunity to create a really great visual story of the night, making use of the time to capture candid images, shots of the space, finer details and some killer long exposure location images.
The Outcome
A very happy client, provided with a great variety of images they have been able to use to create strong content on their social media and internal comms.
